Meet the Artists
Mark Cajigao (Director)
Mark is an actor, singer, director and producer who has worked on stage and in film in NYC, regionally, and as far abroad as Cairo, Egypt. Now settled in Hastings on Hudson, he is so grateful that he gets to play and collaborate with everyone at River’s Edge. Recently, he was seen as The Stranger in Peek-a-Boo, Theseus/Oberon in Midsummer Night’s Dream, and barely survived the Women’s Writes: 24 Hour Play Fest. He also directed Nick Payne’s Constellations and for the past two years has co-curated RETCo’s Cold Reads series, where every month local actors tackle a different play with no prior rehearsal. Other favorite roles through the years include Dylan Thomas in Sidney Michaels’s Dylan, Arthur in Camelot, Einstein in Picasso at the Lapin Agile, John Adams in 1776, Trigorin in The Seagull, and Zach in A Chorus Line. Mark holds degrees from Wagner College and The New School for Drama. Endless thanks to Alex, Ella and Henry, you are MY world.
Monica Robles (Stage Manager)
Monica is the co-founder of Tres Brujas Productions where she serves as a producer and stage manager. Past production credits include work in NYC, Puerto Rico and Edinburgh. During the day, she is a media Partnerships Director at SiriusXM and sits as the chair of their DE&I Board and their Pride ERG, developing partnerships with non-profit organizations such as The Ally Coalition, New Alternatives and Live Out Loud.
Traci Redmond (Nurse Traci in the curtain speech)
Traci is a theater artist based in Dobbs Ferry, NY, working as an actor, voice actor, and improviser. A regular collaborator with River’s Edge Theatre Company, she recently appeared as Susan in Happy Hour for the 24 Hour Women’s Writes Festival and Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She also leads monthly adult improv classes, nurturing creativity and play. Outside of RETCo one of her favorite recent roles was Sandra in The Play That Goes Wrong at Elmwood Playhouse. On screen, her short film An American Love Story? is currently making its way through the festival circuit. Offstage, Traci is proudly embracing her most challenging role yet: stage 4 colon cancer survivor. She encourages everyone—seriously—to schedule that colonoscopy!

HOMEGROWN SHAKESPEARE:
Romeo + Juliet
July 19th at 4pm and 7:30pm
July 20th at 4pm
Bethany Arts Community, Ossining (INDOORS)
Shakespeare never looked so sustainable! Earth conscious actors agree to a theatrical feat for the planet. Forbidden to rehearse with one another, each actor must craft their own character, costume, and props in the privacy of their own home with sustainability in mind. Nothing can be purchased. Use of recycled materials is encouraged. Coming together for the first time on the weekend of the show, these actors perform onstage in front of a live audience. NO HOLDS BARD! Recommended for ages 8 and up.
Why Romeo and Juliet? This timeless tale of forbidden love, family divides, and impassioned ideals resonates in today’s world where divisions run deep, and differences often lead to conflict. The story challenges us to look at the power struggles and misunderstandings of Shakespeare’s time through a modern lens, asking how we can bridge divides and make room for unity. As the young lovers defy the forces pulling them apart, we’re reminded that empathy, courage, and love have the power to break cycles of discord and inspire real change.
